Solution: 

the angle traced by the hour hand in 1 hour is 

=  360° / 12

=  30°

when the time is 3:25 AM 

3 hrs 

= 3 x 30°

= 90°

30 min  

= (30/60) x 30°

= 0.5 x 30°

= 15°

total angle

= 90° + 15°

= 105°

2. Yuri went shopping with $600 and returned home with only $235. What percentage of his original money did he spend?

a. 68.8%

b. 60.8%  --- answer 

c. 80.6%

d. 86.5%

Solution 

money spent

= 600 - 235

= $365

percentage spent

= (365/600) * 100%

= 0.608 * 100%

= 60.8%
